Genoa resists without suffering, Milan poses little threat: 0-0 in the 45th minute at San Siro

Few emotions and no goals at San Siro at the end of the first 45 minutes. The Genoa by Patrick Vieira, unbeaten in 5 games, is holding his own against Milan by Paulo Fonseca, partly revolutionized by the “strong” choices of the Portuguese coach.

Genoa approached the challenge better, not allowing Milan to find the attacking midfielders between the lines with good pressing. It’s ten minutes of difficulty for the Rossoneri, who create the first danger with a shot from Emerson blocked for a corner by Leali. It is Reijnders who plays the charge and accelerates; shortly after the Dutch serve Abraham, who is not precise with the diagonal cross.

The Rossoneri seem to have definitively disbanded and the performance of Liberali and Jimenez, the two new formations proposed by Fonseca, is also growing: the Italian born in 2007 falls in the area after contact with Vogliacco but Guida does not concede the penalty, infuriating Fonseca. Then it is the full-back who serves Chukwueze, who arrives a little late for the appointment and makes a mistake a few steps from the rossoblù goal. It is the best moment for the hosts, who however are unable to give continuity to the attacks and collide against the host’s wall, only looking for a long-range shot. We go to half-time at 0-0.
