Luca Tabbianicoach of Trento, spoke in the press conference after the defeat against Vicenza:
“We knew we would face a strong team, but they proved to be even better than I thought. They showed clear superiority in every aspect: technical, physical and mental. The difference on the pitch was notable. They have a capable coach, a magnificent stadium and a truly high-level team. It is not an understatement to admit that we faced a clearly superior opponent. We regret not having done more, but this evening I just want to congratulate our opponents.”
How do you evaluate this defeat compared to the one against Novara?
“It was a completely different match. Tonight they made the difference, while against Novara there were other types of problems. However, we ended the first round with 30 points, a result which, if it had been predicted to us at the beginning of the season, we would have welcomed it with great enthusiasm. Now we have to use this defeat to motivate ourselves even more. Against Padova we will need more energy and ambition: we want to learn how to win, we also have to accept defeats, especially against teams strong as this”.
How much did the episodes influence the result?
“Football is played on episodes, and this time too they didn’t favor us. Conceding a goal immediately here at Menti was a hard blow to digest. We had the whole match to try to straighten it out, but Vicenza left us no space. Despite this, I think we can do better. I told the boys to take two days off to mentally detach and come back on Monday with new energy. Another difficult match awaits us on Sunday, similar to tonight’s, but I’m sure we can tackle it with greater determination”.
