Como, Fabregas: “Ranieri structured Roma. At 73, I don’t think I’ll coach”

On the eve of the match against Roma, the Como coach Cesc Fabregas he spoke thus of the challenge to Ranieri’s team: “We know that, individually, Roma are stronger than us. So we must respond with compactness and serenity in managing the ball. We need to widen the field, use the full backs well and look for the right moment to sink in. Clearly the defensive phase will be important, we worked a lot in this sense. I scored two goals against Ranieri’s Leicester, but my cycle is over, it’s just who plays tomorrow, I don’t exist and it’s up to the boys to work for victory.”

The change of coach: “With Ranieri it is better structured and more solid. Their strength is in their many individualities. I would have liked to have Saelemaekers with us, but there are many strong players: El Shaarawy, Dovbyk. They raised the level and I’m confident, it will be an important match for us.”

On Ranieri: “At 73 years old he is still the coach and I know how demanding it is, it is incredible. His experience, used with his intelligence, is recognized by many players he has coached: they have only nice words for him. He knows how to manage the team well , always with a smile or a nice word. He sees clearly: Roma have not changed, they have the same players, they use a similar formation, but it is clear that there is more serenity in the team. I don’t think so I’ll be on the bench…”.”, he highlights LarioSport.
