AND Antonio Zappi the new president of the AIA. Former president Alfredo Trentalange, who ran for the second time after having been in office from 14 February 2021 to 18 December 2022, was defeated. At today’s general assembly at the Radisson Blu GHR Hotel in Rome, 930 voted, 673 the preferences were for Zappi, who thus obtained 72.3% of the votes. For Trentalange 246 votes, equivalent to 26.4% of voters, while 11 blank ballots.

Opening at 11am, speeches by Pacifici first and then Gravina kicked off the work. From 11.30 it was the time of the two candidates for the Presidency, with Trentalange and Zappi having 35 minutes each to present their program to the Assembly. From 12.30pm with the declarations of the two teams of presidential candidates and the interventions of the participants, the discussion closed just before 4pm. After two hours of voting, Antonio Zappi’s proclamation arrived at 6pm. Michele Affinito in the role of Vice President and Francesco Massini in the role of Deputy Vice President will also be present in the team of the new President of the AIA, awaiting what will then be the technical appointments that will take place in the coming weeks.
