11 December 2013, Juve leaves the Champions League in two days. With goals from a former Inter player

Galatasaray-Juventus will be replayed on 11 December 2013. Or rather, the match that began the evening before and was blocked due to heavy snowfall that hit the Turkish capital ends. A draw would be enough for the Bianconeri to qualify for the next round, but they will not be able to bring home the practice. Roberto Mancini, Galatasaray’s coach, celebrates thanks to a former Inter player: because five minutes from the end Sneijder unlocks the lead for the final 1-0. The final assault was of no avail, the inclusion of Quagliarella and Giovinco for Marchisio and Giovinco, it will be the Europa League.

This is Cenk Ergun’s memory, ten years after the event. “The best match against an Italian team was when we eliminated Juventus from the Champions League in the snow. We won that match thanks to the hotel. When the two captains decided to postpone the match, I immediately booked rooms for the whole team. Juve, on the other hand, had to wait hours at the stadium and therefore rested very little.” Probably also thanks to the decidedly worse turf in Juve’s attacking half of the pitch, but that’s another matter.
