The Juventus coach Thiago Motta spoke to the microphones of Sky Sports in view of tomorrow evening’s match against Manchester City, a fundamental match for Juventus in the new Champions League standings. These are his words:
What game will it be?
“A good opportunity, as always we respect the opponent but we want to put into practice what we know how to do, putting our values into play. We want to be compact, play as a team, play well with the ball, have solidity with and without the ball. We want to face as a big team like City who have shown an extraordinary level in recent years.”
Will City’s latest negative results indicate?
“I don’t think the moment is important, the pitch will be important tomorrow. We want to play good football, which means defending well, attacking the opponent, regrouping, helping each other on the pitch with solidarity and the desire to put everything one has inside into disposition of the group. So we could have a great match.”
How are Cambiaso and the other injured players?
“Cambiaso wants to be there, today he trained fully with the group and we’ll see tomorrow morning how he feels. If he’s well he plays, if he doesn’t feel 100% he doesn’t. Let’s see tomorrow, Douglas and McKennie return to the group. Douglas was a little more stopped, Wes a little less. They are fine and will slowly get back into the rhythm of the team. McKennie has played a lot, Douglas will need more time to get into the rhythm of the team and their improvements must be evaluated day by day.” .
