Gomez: “Retegui has a very strong head. Lookman has learned to play as a team”

An exhilarating season. This is what Atalanta is experiencing, leaders of our tournament and ready to face Real Madrid in the Champions League. He spoke about the Nerazzurri in today’s edition of the notebooks Gazzetta dello Sport The Papu Gomez: “When Scamacca broke down I thought it would be tough. But Retegui was quick to fit into Gasperini’s game, as was the club to take him so quickly.”

Today’s three points and those of the Goddess of Papu: similarities and differences?
“Between Zapata and Retegui, 15 kilos will pass… Duvan was a train, when he was well he had a physical strength that was frightening, he would drag you to the goal. Retegui has learned to play from the back, now he moves better in the area. And he is very strong in the head.”

Ilicic and De Ketelaere?
“Similar only because they are both left-footed and tall. I’m impressed by De Ketelaere’s way of scoring and winning aerial duels with his head, but Josip just needed one play to change a game.”

And what do you like about Lookman?
“He has learned to play as a team, he is less individualistic: he used to just aim, he only looked for one-on-ones and much less the connection with the midfielders. But I don’t make comparisons that concern me…”
