Three days after being eliminated from the Italian Cup, Napoli lost once again against Lazio. At the Maradona stadium, Antonio Conte’s team was knocked out by a goal scored by Gustav Isaksen in the 79th and said goodbye to the top of the table. The Neapolitans were too imprecise offensively and were unable to take advantage of the many positions available and in the end were condemned by a restart.
Despite the second consecutive defeat, Conte still showed himself satisfied with his team’s attitude after the match: “This match said that the path we are following is the right one, our idea is to attack the opponent so as not to let him play the game and create situations to do harm. We need to improve from this point of view, we arrive there but the last step is missing. We’re working on it, I’m not disappointed with the performance, the boys gave everything, playing a good match against an excellent team, they’re not doing very well , during this journey I am there some stumbles, there will probably be others, this is the team I want to see but we need to be more qualitative in the final metres.”
