The 16th day of the Serie B championship will end this afternoon with the Sassuolo-Sampdoria match. At the Mapei Stadium – Città del Tricolore, the neroverdi, first in the standings with 34 points, meet the blucerchiati, once again protagonists of a season, up to now, below expectations: both will therefore be motivated to give the best to take home the entire stake. Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi from the Livorno section was appointed to direct the race. Assisting her will be assistants Costanzo and Ceolin and fourth officer Rinaldi. VAR and AVAR will, however, be entrusted to Volpi and Di Paolo. Kick-off is scheduled for 5.15pm.
HOW SASSUOLO ARRIVES – Despite the defeat against Milan and the elimination from the Italian Cup, the Emilians arrive at today’s match with great enthusiasm, thanks to the lead in the standings, but above all to the impressive progress list which sees the team coached by Fabio Grosso unbeaten in the championship for eleven matchdays with 9 wins and a draw and very fast towards direct promotion to Serie A. Be careful, however, not to underestimate Sampdoria, as recalled by the coach himself who underlined the quality of the squad in the press conference blucerchiata. Romagna and Lipani will not be part of the match as they are struggling with their respective injuries.
HOW SAMPDORIA ARRIVES – The Blucerchiati currently occupy thirteenth position with just 17 points and are in the midst of a crisis: in fact, they have not had three points since last October 27th, when they won 1-0 over Mantua. In the last round of the championship, the 3-3 draw against Catanzaro left several discontents in the square and now Mr. Sottil is playing for everything against Mapei: after taking a 2-0 lead, the Ligurians went behind by 2-3, managing to equalize only at the end, thanks to Leonardi’s goal, with the opponents outnumbered.
