“Very disappointing.” As Gianpaolo Calvarese defines Matteo Marchetti’s test. The former referee, who analyzed for today’s edition of Tuttosport the work of the whistle in the Juventus-Bologna match which ended 2-2, underlined how there were many technical errors on the part of the match director: “The referee misses several fouls along the way – he began – including that of Kalulu on Odgaard in the open field, on a rossoblù attacking action, Marchetti does not detect any irregularity, the VAR does a silent check for a possible DOGSO and consequent expulsion for the French defender”.
Calvarese then goes on to also comment that “an obvious foul is missing: Odgaard is in front and Kalulu takes his foot. It would have been yellow (and not red) because he lacked possession of the ball, which bounces and would have been difficult to control”.
In the second half the situation does not improve, on the contrary, some uncertainties continue: “He assigns a non-existent yellow to Kalulu (there is no touch on Fabbian). The general nervousness and the continuous protests lead to a red card for Thiago Motta. He gets away without even a Koopmeiners yellow for a bad foul on Fabbian – concluded Gianpaolo Calvarese – while there is no penalty for Juve for the Holm-Mbangula contact, which was too slight”.
