A goalless draw and some regrets. Genoa continues the streak of consecutive useful results after the draw against Cagliari and the victory in Udine but must postpone the appointment with the first success in the championship within friendly walls. The team of Patrick Vieira did not go beyond the 0-0 draw at “Ferraris” against Torino. A match in which the rossoblù demonstrated defensive solidity on the one hand but on the other struggled to create chances at the goal defended by Milinkovic-Savic.
In the first half of the match the hosts created some chances, especially with Frendrup who kicked on goal from an excellent position but was deflected into a corner by Ricci. In the second half, after Vojvoda hit a post at the end of the first half, Vanoli’s team took the lead and risked taking the lead at the end with Tameze but Leali saved everything in the corner.
At the end of the match, the French coach commented in the press room: “It was a difficult match for us but I think also for Toro. We tried to play and create a few more chances but we created little. On the other hand I saw a team with character and personality. There are positive aspects: Defensively, as a team, we are more solid than before and so we move forward.”
