Marcus Thuram’s derby: the attacker challenges father Lilian’s Parma for the first time

Parma is a piece of life for the Thuram family. It is precisely here that Marcus, son of Lilian, was born, and this evening he will face a sort of very special derby against the ducals. The attacker – we also read in La Gazzetta dello Sport – will have to drag Inter into the match at San Siro which will open the fifteenth matchday of the championship at 6.30pm today. A truly important task for the French center forward, who this time too will take the field alongside Lautaro Martinez.

Marcus will challenge Parma for the first time in his life, the team from the city where he was born and where he lived between 1997 and 2001. All before moving to Turin, when his father Lilian signed with Juventus. And the former defender could also be at San Siro, whose presence in the stands has not yet been confirmed. However, many memories will pass through Marcus’ mind, given that as a child the striker dreamed of following in Marco Di Vaio’s footsteps.

It won’t just be an emotional night for Thuram, who will want to break a long fast in Milan. In front of his own fans, in fact, the Frenchman will be looking for a goal that he has been missing at San Siro for two months now. Thuram’s last Milanese performance dates back to 5 October, with a fantastic hat-trick in the 3-2 win over Torino.
