Italy-Germany at San Siro. The Germans will respond with another great stadium…

Yesterday the Federation announced that Italy-Germany – a match valid for the first leg of the Nations League quarter-finals – will be staged at the Meazza stadium in San Siro. After the match against France, the FIGC decided to play again in Milan given that in the last match the Azzurri were supported by a warm crowd.

Germany, for its part, does not want to be outdone and should soon announce where the return match will be played. The news of the last few days concerns the fact that the German federation has requested availability for two of the most important German stadiums: the Olympiastadion in Berlin and the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund.

Italy-Germany will take place on March 20th, three days later the return match will be played on German soil. Yesterday the FIGC announced the choice of the Meazza stadium with this press release: “One hundred and twenty-three days after the match against France, the national team will return to play in Milan. The ‘Giuseppe Meazza’ stadium – which last November 17th had recorded everything sold out (68,000 spectators, record taking for a national team match) on the occasion of the match against Les Bleus – in fact it will host Italy-Germany, the first leg of the Nations League quarter-finals in program Thursday 20 March at 8.45 pm.
