Wide stripes, badges and Little Devil: Milan, images and details of the shirt for the 125th anniversary

After the presentation of the last few hours, the Milan continues to celebrate its special edition shirt for the 125 years of the Rossoneri club. This is the company note:

AC MILAN AND PUMA CELEBRATE THE 125 YEARS OF THE ROSSONERI WITH A SPECIAL ANNIVERSARY KIT
Wide stripes, badges and Little Devil: a celebration of AC Milan’s heritage and a symbol of its innovative spirit, created with the support of the fans
AC Milan and PUMA are proud to present the Anniversary kit for the 125 years since the foundation of the Rossoneri Club. A celebration of AC Milan’s heritage and a symbol of its innovative spirit, created with the support of its fans around the world, who, through a series of surveys, have contributed to creating a kit that embodies the timeless style of the Rossoneri and the AC Milan spirit that the Club has represented since its foundation in 1899.

The 125th Anniversary Capsule Collection includes the Authentic Player Jersey, the Goalkeeper Jersey, the Retro Football and a special limited edition Retro Style Jersey. In homage to the year the Club was founded, only 1899 pieces of the Retro Style Jersey will be available, each with a unique serial number and exclusive packaging that will make them true collector’s items for fans and enthusiasts.

The process of creating the shirt design began last December, when Milan fans were invited to give shape to the Club’s legacy by choosing the key elements of the Anniversary kit. Through the “Design our Jersey, Design our Legacy” campaign and a dedicated platform, fans were able to make design choices that reference some of the key moments in AC Milan’s history:

The wide stripes first appeared on the Rossoneri shirt in the 1950s and later became synonymous with the Club’s most iconic international victories, especially from the late 1980s onwards
The badge on the kit pays homage to the first official emblem of the Club, dating back to its foundation in 1899 as the Milan Football & Cricket Club. This reference to tradition reflects the vision of Herbert Kilpin who, as an Englishman, brought his cultural heritage by founding a Club that celebrated both football and cricket
The Little Devil, emblematic symbol of Milan in the 80s, is printed on the inside of the shirt, accompanied by the writing AC Milan 125, to mark this very important milestone in the history of the Club

AC Milan Fan Token holders on Socios.com also played an important role in the creation of the shirt, voting on the detail that will be printed on the numbers on the back of the shirt. This innovative approach, which celebrates the centrality of the fans in the Club’s project, has given life to a kit that not only honors the historic past of the Rossoneri, but also looks with confidence to its future, celebrating the profound bond between Milan and its fans .

Franco Baresi, Honorary Vice President of AC Milan, declared: “This shirt reflects the soul of Milan: its passion, its history and the vision for the future. I am proud to have lived this club for 50 years, in different roles, so this achievement is particularly special and represents a moment of celebration and unity for the entire Rossoneri family. The Anniversary is a testament to the values and spirit that make our Club extraordinary and this kit is a beautiful way to honor our journey and at the same time celebrate the bond with our fans “.

Designed with PUMA’s dryCELL technology, the Authentic Player Jersey is made to keep players cool and comfortable, to perform at the highest level and to embody the essence of AC Milanism. As a testament to PUMA’s commitment to sustainability, the shirt is made with 100% recycled materials, excluding finishes and decorations.

The limited edition Retro Style Jersey, made from the highest quality cotton, is a nostalgic nod to the aesthetic of football. Each piece will have a unique serial number, making it an exclusive emblem of AC Milan’s timeless legacy. The Retro Football completes the collection, a modern reinterpretation of AC Milan’s vintage football design.

To pay homage to the vintage style of the Anniversary kit, both the men’s and women’s First Team will wear shirts with only the numbers on the back. Furthermore, the shirt will be available exclusively in a long-sleeved version, including those worn by players on the pitch, and will not feature any sponsor logos, apart from the PUMA logo on the left shoulder, further enhancing its retro appeal.

The kit was officially revealed last night during an event held in the Milan Flagship Store in via Dante, in the heart of Milan. The event was attended by a delegation of AC Milan legends, VIPs and media, who had the opportunity to have an exclusive preview of the shirt.

Maikel Oettle, Chief Commercial Officer of AC Milan, commented: “This kit represents more than just a shirt, it is a testament to the bond between Milan and its fans and to the strong partnership between our Club and PUMA. Having our fans so deeply involved in its creation underlines our commitment to placing our global fanbase at the heart of everything we do. We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our shirt sponsors – Emirates, MSC, Banco BPM and TIM – for waiving their right to be featured on the AC Milan shirt for the matches of our First Teams in which will be used. Their support for this initiative reflects their deep understanding of the importance of this achievement, and is a gesture that the entire Club greatly appreciates.”

Marco Mueller, Senior Director of Product Line Management Teamsport at PUMA, added: “The 125th Anniversary kit is not only a celebration of AC Milan’s history, but also a tribute to the boundless passion of its fans. We are honored to have collaborated with the Rossoneri fans to create a shirt that not only aims to be a symbol of the history of football, but also of performance and pride.”

The 125th Anniversary kit will make its debut on the pitch for the very first time on 8 December, when the Women’s First Team wear it in the Derby against their city rivals at the PUMA House of Football. The men’s First Team will then wear the kit in the San Siro match against Genoa on 15 December, which will represent the culmination of the Club’s celebrations for its 125th anniversary.

To celebrate the launch of the Anniversary kit and share the moment with Rossoneri fans around the world, AC Milan and PUMA organized two events dedicated to fans at the PUMA Flagship Stores in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, and in Shanghai, in China. In line with the Club’s international spirit, legend Roberto Donadoni will meet fans in Dubai on 8 December, while Honorary Vice President Franco Baresi will greet supporters in Shanghai on 11 December.

The 125th Anniversary kit is available starting today in all official AC Milan stores, on store.acmilan.com, on PUMA.com, and at selected retailers around the world.
