Gabriele Zappa was awarded by the Lega Serie A for scoring the best goal of the month of November. “The goal scored by the Cagliari defender in the match last November 9th against Milan – we read in the press release – was the most voted by the fans on the official Lega Serie A social channels. The splendid volley allowed Gabriele Zappa to overtake Hakan Calhanoglu’s long-range shot against Napoli in the voting.”
This is the goal that made the final 3-3 in the home match against Milan. Recently Zappa, during an interview with the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’, returned to his winning conclusion: “I still struggle to believe it. Sara, my partner, says that on Saturday night I was electric, super agitated. And in the morning when I woke up I found the message from Gabbia, the Milan defender who is a friend with the words ‘Damn you you, but congratulations.”
And again: “Will you be saved? That’s what we want at all costs. Every year it’s more difficult. This year there are more teams competing and the difference between big and small teams has narrowed a bit. We have the strength of a healthy group, we go to the field with a smile and this can make the difference. There are players who fight and have nerve.”
