Torino, center forward priority in January. The four attackers in Urbano Cairo’s sights

The newspaper ‘TuttoSport’ on newsstands today lists the attackers targeted by Torino for the winter transfer window. With Duvan Zapata’s injury also affecting this phase of the season, the Granata club’s priority is to provide Mister Vanoli with a new starting centre-forward. Four players in particular are in the sights: Giovanni Simeone of Napoli, Beto of Everton, Jovic of Milan and Petagna of Monza.

On Torino’s transfer market, Urbano Cairo expressed himself like this yesterday: “We started well, but Zapata’s injury penalized us, we must forget this episode. We are sorry from a human and sporting point of view, but we must think about getting back on track. The calendar was a little more complex, but there is certainly the desire to do well, Vanoli is on track, the team is with him. Full trust on my part, support for a good coach and willingness to intervene in January to make a few more players available to him. Ricci certainly remains at Torino.”

Then in another passage he added: “I’m not selling Toro, but I don’t want to stay there for life. I paid 10 million euros to leave with Torino which was on the verge of bankruptcy. I threw myself into the fray, also pushed by my mother who was a huge fan. If anyone richer than me will come forward, I’m ready to listen to the proposals. The Giro d’Italia, however, is absolute fake news. We wanted to concentrate all the brands and make RCS a parent company, but it doesn’t exist willingness to give up nothing. Cycling is a sport of great interest, of great growth and we want to invest on January 13th there will be the presentation of the Giro d’Italia”.
