Naples, Anguissa is back as a true leader: now the Neapolitan midfield is flying

He started out as a possible unknown after a season with more shadows than lights, currently Zambo Anguissa he is one of the immovable pivots of the midfield of the Naples. In Conte’s tactical board he is now irreplaceable, playing as an inside midfielder completed by Lobotka as the metronome and McTominay as another midfielder.

The Morning reconstructed the stages of the rebirth of the former Fulham Cameroonian player. First of all, from the first day of his presentation at Palazzo Reale, Conte included Anguissa in the short list of the four untouchables of Napoli from which to start again. An injection of confidence for Zambo, who was not discouraged by the rumors that initially saw the purchase of McTominay as his alter ego.

Furthermore, shortly before the Scot’s presentation, the great performance provided by Anguissa against Parma was decisive, complete with the winning goal. From there, the midfielder never stopped. Lots of substance in the middle of the pitch with balls knocked out of opponents, but also vision of the game as demonstrated by the assist for Lukaku at San Siro against Milan. Also on Sunday in Turin against Vanoli’s Granata he showed off yet another excellent performance: a real resurrection therefore, after the last – and anonymous – year.
