Alessio Liscia 39-year-old Roman second in the Spanish Serie B with Mirandés, speaks to The newspaper of the magical moment he is having with his team: “I prefer to stay with my feet on the ground. Even last season we ended the first round (21 games, ed.) in mid-table with 28 points, but then we only saved ourselves in the I honestly didn’t expect this start also because the squad was built in the last few days of the transfer market, with various loans from the teams here in the area. This however is the philosophy of the club, which does not have large funds and therefore every time it starts again almost from zero”.
In Italy, however, his name is not known.
“I did the UEFA-B course in Taranto and that’s it, but I trained in Las Rozas, here in Spain. But when I lived in Italy I worked in the youth sector of Lazio and in the meantime I coached a local team in the Rome area. But my football team is almost entirely Spanish”.
What kind of foundation did it have?
“I studied Sports Science and specialized in athletic training, or rather I saw that as the way to enter the world of football. Then I did an internship with Levante, Valencia’s second team, and little by little I became a coach” .
In fact, you have already coached in La Liga.
“Yes, as a substitute after the whole youth system; 23 games with Levante between December 2021 and May 2022. We couldn’t save ourselves, it’s true, but with me we scored 28 points, scoring 38 goals, fifth best attack in the championship.”
If they called from Italy how would you behave??
“I would only accept those projects capable of giving me stability and peace of mind, like Mirandés. Not that you miss two matches and you’re already in question or sacked. But I’m sure that I would coach differently than here, where training is also more “ “relaxed” than in Italy. Then even the B-teams are much better structured than there.”
