Etienne Youte Kinkouea 23-year-old central defender currently playing for Le Havre but with a past in Inter’s youth teams, gave an interview to Transfermarkt.it in which he returned to retrace his Nerazzurri-tinged past.
For example, Kinkoue remembers how his arrival in Italy and specifically at Inter developed: “When I spoke with the Inter managers (in 2019, ed.), I found their proposal interesting. Troyes, my club at the time, had offered me a trainee contract but I believed I was worth more. I discussed it in family because I expected more. Then the conversations with the Nerazzurri staff definitely convinced me. I was fascinated by the idea of acquiring new knowledge in a different country, with its own culture… In short, I wanted to broaden my knowledge.”
And then he also explains why he said goodbye: “After the first year abroad I needed to improve some aspects of my game, I knew I wasn’t in the first team yet. In the second year yes, I felt I was ready. At that point I think Inter wanted to send me on loan and at a later time I had to return to the base, however, I only had two options: to join the rotations of the club’s basic group or to leave.”
