Giorgio Chiellini officially joined the ECA yesterday. The day after the appointment, Juventus also issued a statement on the subject: “On 16 September, a new adventure at Juventus began for Giorgio Chiellini, this time however with a managerial role and specifically in the role of Head of Football Institutional Relations.
A managerial role, therefore, which for some months now has seen Chiellini engaged in representing the Club in relations with national and international football institutions. A role that fits perfectly with the training acquired by Giorgio in his academic field, but also with everything in his long and successful career as a footballer.
Now, for him, a new certificate of esteem, coming from the European Club Association (ECA). Giorgio, in fact, was appointed member of the UEFA Club Competitions Committee. This new position that he will occupy will see him involved in the dynamics and, consequently, in decisions relating to UEFA competitions at club level. Andre Villas Boas (FC Porto) and Niclas Carlnen (Malmö FF) were also nominated with him.”
These are Giorgio Chiellini’s statements: “I am grateful for the trust that the European Club Association (ECA) has placed in me by appointing me as a member of the UEFA Club Competitions Committee. A commitment of great responsibility, thanks to which I will have the opportunity to share my experience and contribute to the future of European football, with the same passion and dedication as always.”
