Copa del Rey: Espanyol surprisingly out, Celta in a landslide. Elche struggles, Valladolid ok

The first matches valid for the 32nd round of the Copa Del Rey have ended. With great suffering, Real Valladolid qualified for the round of 32 against Real Ávila, but the result of 4-2 was enough. Above all Elche, with difficulty, overcomes 1-0 against Yeclano, with Plano’s goal deciding. However, the match between Real Zaragoza and Granada was decided on penalties, with the latter triumphing 5-4 from the spot: fatal errors first by Clemente and then by Manas on the Leones’ side.

Las Palmas had to earn their way to the next round with sweat, after being momentarily beaten 1-1 by Europe, but McBurnie’s brace chased away any fears. Celta went too far, tearing Salamanca apart with 7 goals. Barbastro repeats the feat it had already achieved last year against a first-class team and eliminates Espanyol with Sito Barrera’s double centre.

Yeclano – Elche 0-1
Barbastro – Espanyol 2-0
