Fiorentina, Ferrari CEO: “Meeting with the Municipality to try to reduce the time required for the Franchi restyling”

Today in Florence, a meeting was held in the prefecture between Fiorentina and the local authorities to decide the venue for the Viola team’s home matches in the coming months, when the works for the restyling of the Franchi will also involve other sectors in addition to the Fiesole Curve. This is the thought of the director Alessandro Ferrari at the end of the meeting: “Today was an important meeting because there is the willingness to remain at Franchi which has always been our priority. In recent days we have sent a letter to give continuity to the words we had with the mayor and in our interest to understand all aspects of the project. There is a first part of the project which should end in 2026 and a second part to be understood well also to evaluate an intervention by Fiorentina for the second part”.

Is Fiorentina willing to abandon Franchi for a handful of games to speed things up?
“The entire timetable will have to be reviewed in light of developments. The League is willing to let us play a couple of rounds away so as to have the entire stadium as a construction site for a longer period.”

On what basis and when could collaboration with the municipality arise?
“The collaboration has been going on for a few months, we have the same common objective, which is to give Florence a more functional and modern stadium. There is a desire on the part of the municipality to look at the project together with us and to take a good look at the costs, in addition to the times that are very important for us. A stadium halved is also a big economic problem for us.”

There was talk about the possibility of you being involved with project financing.
“Once we have received all the necessary information we will tell everyone based on what they have told us.”

How will next season resume?
“The next season will start exactly like the current one. Thanks to this meeting we tried to understand if there will be a shortening of the restyling times”.
