Danilo doesn’t start, attack on Silva: this is how Giuntoli wants to strengthen Juve’s defence

The ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ on newsstands today takes stock of Juventus’ transfer market strategies and explains that the Juventus club, despite a contract expiring in June and little intention of renewing it, will not let captain Danilo leave in January. Much less to send him to Napoli. The Brazilian footballer is highly appreciated by Antonio Conte but – we read – neither Juventus wants to sell him to a direct competitor nor does the player want to move in January.

Another defender will arrive at Juventus in the next transfer window and the first suspect is Antonio Silvaa 21-year-old Portuguese player who ended up on the bench in Benfica in the last period (five consecutive exclusions between the championship and the Champions League). With Jorge Mendes we are working on the possibility of snatching the player away on a costly loan. The other profiles monitored by Giuntoli (more difficult to acquire) are those of David Hancko of Feyenoord, Milan Skriniar of Paris Saint-Germain and Radu Dragusin of Tottenham.

Just yesterday, regarding Danilo, Juventus transfer man Cristiano Giuntoli expressed himself like this: “Right now Danilo is our captain and we’re keeping him close, behind us we’re reduced to the minimum. We haven’t talked about anything either with Danilo or with Napoli, let’s see, the objective is not to give up anyone and take a player in defence” .
