Atalanta wants a midfielder: budget of 12-13 million. But it doesn’t mean it will arrive in January

Atalanta has a budget of 12-13 million to sign a midfielder. This would be the first objective for the coming market, but it is a mandatory conditional because if there is the intention to strengthen the department, on the other hand it is not certain that the club wants to change the cards on the table, going to move a mechanism that seems almost perfect. If it is true that Godfrey and Sulemana have not convinced Gasperini – and they could leave the Nerazzurri in January – bringing in another player could also have a sort of new normality.

Last year in January Isak Hien arrived and later became essential in all matches, between Serie A, Europa League and the current Champions League. The hope would be to have such a profile, although the possibility of him looking across the Channel – especially in the Championship – should not be underestimated. The intention would be to take a deputy De Roon, therefore with the possibility of being a sort of box to box, capable of recovering balls with pressing.

But then there will be the Ederson issue who, in the summer, risks ending up on the market. There is no renewal yet and the big European clubs have now put him under observation, with Atalanta making an evaluation (at least) of him like Koopmeiners. So from 60 million up.
