Turin-Napoli 0-1, the report cards: super Milinkovic is not enough, Kvara and McTominay winners

Final result: Turin-Napoli 0-1

TURIN (Edited by Alessio Piazza)
Milinkovic-Savic 8 – With two miracles in the first half and two in the second, he kept the result afloat. He can do nothing about McTominay’s lightning shot which gives the guests the lead with a goal of 0-1.

Walukiewicz 5 – He has a very inconvenient client in his area, Kvaratskhelia, who often puts him in difficulty. Forced to make several fouls to hold back the Georgian which, in the end, cost him a yellow card.

Coco 6 – Good defense work to contain Lukaku. The central defender often manages to anticipate the Belgian striker but the mistake he made with an empty net in the first half when he failed to score the goal that could have made it 1-1 was too serious.

Masina 6.5 – Careful in the central closures on Anguissa and good at containing an inspired Politano this afternoon. Also perfect in sliding to anticipate Kvaratskhelia launched towards goal. From 75′ Sosa SV

Pedersen 5.5 – Aggressive in space, good dialogue with Adams with whom he finds a couple of interesting 1-2s. Too severe, perhaps, the yellow for withholding on Kvaratskhelia which created some headaches for him too. From 46′ Lazaro 6 –Enter to try to contain as much of an inspired Kvaratskhelia as possible. He succeeds even with some worries.

Linetty 6 – He plays in midfield and looks for passing lines to try to break through centrally. Also good in the retreat phase to remove a dangerous ball from McTominay’s feet on the edge of the area. From 64′ Vlasic 5.5 – He doesn’t find the leap that Vanoli asks of him and limits himself to an unsuccessful bank at the end of the match.

Curls 5.5 – Sets up the action in an orderly manner and moves well in midfield. It lacks a bit of malice and conviction in creating dangerous situations to finalize.

Gineitis 6.5 – He starts off strong with several gallops on the wing where he is found by his teammates. Good at freeing himself from the cross which he often executes very well, creating dangerous situations which, however, are not exploited by his teammates. Also careful in coverage on Anguissa throughout the match.

Vojvoda 6 – He finds good passing lines and shows that he is in excellent physical condition by pressing Politano high and recovering several balls. From the 75th minute Karamoh SV

Adams 6 – Ready to go has a very tempting opportunity that he doesn’t exploit well. Good at freeing himself and taking a header, less good at the finishing phase. He plays a game of substance, communicating a lot with the outside players even if it drops towards the end.

Sanabria 6 – He fights a lot and creates a couple of dangerous situations in the first half despite the few balls he receives in the area. Well done in bringing the high pressure on Meret (who was in difficulty) and the play that was about to lead Coco to score the 1-1 goal in the first half was splendid. From 64′ Njie 5 – He moves a lot but it’s not enough. He touches few balls and the ones he receives he is unable to control and distribute to his teammates at the right time.
Paolo Vanoli 6 – His Turin shows signs of recovery after the latest results obtained. The team seems to be following him but now points are needed to avoid compromising a season that has started in the best possible way.

NAPLES (Edited by Pierpaolo Matrone)
Meret 6 – In Naples the most critical say they don’t know his voice because he doesn’t speak much between the posts. Well, those who support him today have been proven wrong: he leads the defense, scolds his teammates when they allow too much space and is impeccable in his exits.

By Lorenzo 6 – The most dangerous on dead balls, he comes close to scoring twice with his head, once in each half. The contribution in the right-wing chain is always appreciable, even if today it is less precise than other times.

Rrahmani 6.5 – There is a lot of praise for our teammate, but his growth is also surprising. Today it is providential at least twice.

Good morning 6.5 – He returns to his Turin, to his stadium and against his favorite team he doesn’t suffer from emotion, he remains focused and makes practically nothing mistakes.

Olivera 6 – In the offensive half space to isolate Kvara from his side, he punctually accompanies the action. Only a great save from Milinkovic-Savic denies him the joy of scoring.

Anguissa 7 – He has an overwhelming physical condition and in fact his opponents never keep him. The movements are always right, his forward forays really annoy the Bull. With its tentacles, then, it makes an important contribution to the non-possession phase when the team stretches. From 87′ Folorunsho sv

Lobotka 6.5 – Always positioned in the best possible way, he has a magnet instead of feet, especially when it comes to reaching second balls. In the second half he is the one who makes amends more than once for some of his teammates’ mistakes.

McTominay 7.5 – The speed with which he controls and shoots at 1-0, in a situation of precarious balance, is that of a footballer of another category. A goal that in Naples reminded those of Fabian, with one difference: on paper he would be right-footed, doing that thing with the left-footed player is even more complicated on paper. Only on paper, in fact. In the end, when the others are tired, he is not, having a different engine, from the Premier League, and becomes decisive in the non-possession phase.

Kvaratskhelia 6.5 – Right, left and assist: all royal for McTominay’s 1-0. Another assist, the third of his season, the eighth goal participation in 14 games. Maybe he shines less than the previous two seasons, but his hand in Napoli’s victories is always there. From 80′ Neres sv

Lukaku 6.5 – With each passing match the physical condition improves and it is evident. He holds up well in the duel with Coco, with a backheel he would have brought down the away section of the Olimpico Grande Torino if Milinkovic-Savic wasn’t a great goalkeeper. From 87′ Simeone sv

Politano 5.5 – An afternoon with the left-handed player a little more jammed than usual. He always runs a lot, in this new interpretation of the full-back winger, but this makes him lose brilliance in the final third of the pitch. From 75 Spinazzola sv

Antonio Conte 7 – Another round, another 1-0 victory, the second in a row, the fourth in the last seven games. He is becoming the king of the short face thanks to an extraordinary defensive solidity transmitted to the team. Of course, the game could be improved, but if we told him, he would reply that we were talking about hot air. And perhaps he is right, given the results: no matter how the other matches go, he will live another week at the top of the table.
