Three months after the last time, Salernitana wins at home and does so by scoring 4 goals against a Carrarese team who were decidedly having an off day and are distant relatives of the combative and organized team that had beaten Pisa the previous week. The performance of the Granata was excellent, with the new module adopted by the coach Stefano Colantuonothey managed to bring home three fundamental points for the standings and morale. After all, although incomplete in all departments, this was certainly not a last-place team and, with a calendar now within reach and the group’s newfound serenity, who knows whether there might be a surprising first-round conclusion awaiting of a winter market that will have to bring in a defender, two midfielders, a playmaker and a striker to replenish the squad by adapting it to the coach’s tactical ideas. There were many happy notes of the day: Wlodarczyk’s first Italian goal, the play of a Verde team who gives his best as an attacking midfielder and not as a winger in the 4-3-3, the save on the line by an Amatucci destined for higher categories, Simy’s poker which allowed the Campania team to round off the score and bring back the smiles of a fan base that sanctioned the definitive break with the owners while guaranteeing total support for the team.
In this respect it was a very intense day for the torrid grenade. Some representatives of the organized fans were already at Arechi at 11 in the morning to display some banners, under the watchful gaze of some members of the club. Despite having all the necessary authorisations, permission was only granted at 3pm and after a series of meticulous checks, complete with videos and photos by the security staff. “In our house there is no master, but only a president with ambition” and “Salerno does not deserve this massacre, Iervolino wake up” are the contents of the two banners displayed in the distincts, while the ultras entered the corner after 15 minutes of cheering strike, writing what follows: “Empty curve, this is what you deserve. As always we will save Salernitana”. There was no shortage of chants against the company (“Liberate la Salernitana”) and, in particular, against president Iervolino. “We are here, where are you?” it was still read in the stands, another sector that joined the protest. At Arechi the seasonal minimum attendance was recorded: just 7000 spectators, the same numbers that Salerno guaranteed at the time of the C2. And this is the data that society will have to reflect on. However, it remains a legitimate and civil protest by “one of the few fans that really makes a difference and affects the result”, as Colantuono put it. And there will be at least a thousand in Modena for the third trip in a month and a half to Emilia Romagna.
