Exciting Lecce: Giampaolo changes philosophy and gets results

Lecce snatched a draw and beat Juventus in the 92nd minute, thanks to Ante Rebic’s first goal for the Giallorossi. There are four points in the first two games of Marco Giampaolo’s new career, which started in the best way. Two totally different matches: if in Venice the Salento team struggled and Falcone was decisive, against Juventus (especially in the second half) we saw a real team that already has clear ideas. Giampaolo wants to offer football and the players have enthusiastically accepted the first tactical dictates.

Reading during the race makes the difference.
In the first set the guests had a couple of opportunities to break the deadlock. The goal that temporarily made it 0-1 came at the worst possible moment for Lecce, who took to the pitch after the break and made their first tactical adjustments. The turning point occurred, this time too, with the substitutions. Rebic and Kaba immediately made a positive impact and, in the second part of the second half, the home team had control of the game. Fair equalizer and deserved goal joy for the Croatian, who had already shown a different verve in Venice.

Enthusiasm and ideas.
The Lecce team seen yesterday at Via del Mare was totally different compared to the match against Empoli. Same score, different attitude and game proposal: the public appreciates it and enthusiasm returns to Salento. Smiles in the stands but also on the faces of the players; Giampaolo is trying to revive (so far with excellent results) those who had disappointed in the very first phase of the season. In Venice the impact of Jean and Helgason was excellent, while against the Bianconeri we saw a good Morente, as well as a reborn Rebic.
