Lindstrom: “A difficult year in Naples. I hope to stay here and that Everton redeems me”

Jesper Lindstrom he wants to stay at Everton. The Toffees player, but owned by Napoli, spoke to the local media as follows: “I hope to stay here and that the club redeems me because I really like life here at Everton. I have to prove that I’m good enough, since they need a lot of money to redeem myself. I have to score some goals and assists, I’m fighting to do that. If I don’t get redeemed, however, I’d be happy with this experience because by training hard I’m learning a lot this year.

The more I play the more rhythm I will have, I feel better, I no longer have cramps after an hour of playing, I feel that I am finding my rhythm again. I had opportunities at Leicester and I had them in the cup against Southampton. So I think I’ve had opportunities to score goals, I just have to give it my all. Sometimes you just need the first goal, I feel like I’m close.

I came here to play after a difficult year and I was a bit frustrated because I only had 10 minutes here and there, that’s what it’s like to be a footballer. You want to play every match, but there are 25 players in a team and it is not possible to play every match. In the end the coach told me to ‘stay humble, fight and run and I don’t want to see any complaints’. This is what I’m doing now.”
