Measuring success for Cagliari. Davide Nicola’s team won the survival match against Verona thanks to a goal scored by Roberto Piccoli. Three points which allow the Sardinians to overtake the Scaligeri in the standings.
Nicola’s words
At the end of the match, Davide Nicola commented: “Hard-fought victory? Absolutely. We worked a lot on transitions, capitalized on the opportunities created. Verona had prepared the match very well. This victory is a source of pride. I chose Lapadula, never used since starter, to gain more space between the central defenders to follow the midfielders when dribbling and use Piccoli not only in front, but in an attempt to create gaps.”
Zanetti’s analysis
This is Paolo Zanetti’s comment instead: “We are disappointed. The boys gave everything, but we have to start from the performance. We had a different spirit, we also created some goals. Let’s bring the pride back home. If we had had this attitude before we will probably have a few less problems. I don’t know yet, the boys have shown me their affection. When we give everything we leave the field with our heads held high. We must try to start again, without looking back too much tunnel”.
