Ruud van Nistelrooy has been appointed first team manager at Leicester City.
The Dutch manager will take charge of the team after Saturday’s away match against Brentford. In the past he achieved success as a coach with PSV Eindhoven.
The 48-year-old Dutchman arrives with extensive experience at the highest level, both as a footballer and manager, and has agreed a contract until June 2027. Ruud will arrive in the UK in time to be present for our Premier League trip to Brentford on Saturday , and then fully assume responsibility for the First Team starting from Sunday.
The team will be led at the Gtech Community Stadium by First Team manager Ben Dawson, supported by coaches Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes. Regarded as one of the best Premier League strikers ever during his career, the former Dutch international has built a growing reputation as a talented manager, having managed teams such as PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United and the Dutch national team.”
