Today’s important day at Lecce, given that the Salento club inaugurated the works on the new Mantignano Training Center with the laying of the first stone given by representatives of the club who also spoke on the sidelines, as reported by TeleRama.
Saverio Sticchi Damiani (president): “The main engine that led us to make this choice is an engine that will lead us to improve sporting performance, it is not just an investment by the club, it is not just a structuring operation of the club, but it is an act of love. An act of love because the idea of being able to have here and even increase the surface area purchased, we have reached 15 and a half hectares, the idea of being able to create no longer six or seven fields, but even eight, to include the first team and our team as well kids from the youth sector is a sign of love.”
Pantaleo Corvino (responsible for the technical area): “Being here today to lay the first stone and give the first dig to our sports center is an extraordinary thing and it is for every club”.
Corrado Liguori (Vice President): “We are very happy with this moment. This is the tenth year since we started with President Saverio Sticchi Damiani. We had a series of things in mind, some of which seemed like unattainable dreams. We have always said that bringing Lecce back to the football that matters and the fans at the stadium was the primary objective, other objectives, some of which were considered a gem, a dream. Here the owned sports center represented a gem and one of the dreams that we want to bring to fruition”.
