Juve in emergency: Motta recovers Vlahovic, but Savona loses

Yesterday, Juventus enjoyed a day of rest to recover in the best possible way from their Champions League efforts against Aston Villa. Today, training will resume at Continassa, where Thiago Motta and his boys will begin preparing for the championship match against Lecce at the Via del Mare stadium. The Juventus coach hopes to recover some injured players, but will most likely have to make a slight turnover to give someone a bit of rest.

Savona out against Lecce and at risk for Bologna.
Nicolò Savona, yesterday, went to JMedical to carry out instrumental tests to understand the extent of the problem in his right thigh suffered in Wednesday’s match against Aston Villa. The Juventus club subsequently issued the medical bulletin on his condition: “Nicolò Savona, following the discomfort in the right adductor suffered during the second half of the Champions League match against Aston Villa, was subjected today, 28 November, to to investigations. Instrumental tests have ruled out injuries and his condition will be evaluated in the next few days.” The Juventus defender will miss the match against Lecce and is a strong risk for the match against Bologna. Juventus’ idea is to recover Savona for the Champions League match against Manchester City.

Vlahovic has recovered from his injury and is a candidate to return to the squad.
Among the many injuries, at Juventus there is finally the return of Dusan Vlahovic to the group. The Serbian striker will most likely be included in the squad for Sunday evening’s match against Lecce. Thiago Motta will thus be able to embrace his striker again who Juventus missed so much in the matches against Milan and Aston Villa. For the championship match, however, Juventus will still have 14 outfield players plus 3 goalkeepers available, this is certainly a serious emergency situation which is complicating the Old Lady’s plans both in the championship and in the Champions League. With Vlahovic’s return it is reasonable to imagine a rest period for Yildiz who came out of the match against Aston Villa very tired. Thiago Motta, however, will have to ask his attackers for overtime to try to find the goal that has been missing for two games.
