Lega Serie A is looking for a new president. In today’s Assembly, the presidents of the twenty clubs in our top league will take stock of who should be the new number one in the League. At the moment, writes the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’, the hypothesis of Lorenzo Casini’s re-nomination is not so probable, also because it is pushed by a fringe (led by Claudio Lotito) who a few weeks ago during the modification of the FIGC Statute discovered in the minority. The first vote for the new president is scheduled for December 16
Three possible candidates. The first is Carlo Bonomi, former president of Confindustria supported above all by Giuseppe Marotta. The second is Ezio Simonelli, a candidate supported by Galliani. Finally Umberto Gandini, former CEO of Roma who could make the leap from president of the Lega Basket Serie A to its football correspondent.
Meanwhile, Gabriele Gravina has officially presented his candidacy to lead the FIGC for a third mandate. Pushed by a large majority and without – for the moment – any opponent, Gravina learned to confirm himself at the helm of the Federation. The candidacy of Alessandro Del Piero (Lotito’s idea) has not in fact taken hold, also because at the moment there is no League that has formalized its support for the former Juventus captain.
