When the opening of the winter transfer market in Serie D is now upon us, as we read above centropagina.it, at Ancona the Honorary President and Head of the Technical Area Vincenzo Guerini was to take stock of the situation: “We went through a difficult moment due to the results not arriving, but we remained very united, the group is solid. We didn’t have to do any kind of booster intervention, everyone behaved very well. Then Maybe we’re not all satisfied, we’d like to play better, but you can’t have everything. It seems like we’ve come out of the critical moment, we’re in line with our early season plans, from a sporting point of view, Gadda was very clear at the beginning of the season and my task was to stay close to the group, and plan a strong company for the future because without that we won’t go anywhere.”
The conversation goes to the market: “This team needs to work hard. But the question I ask myself is: is it worth forcing the club to perhaps finish fifth instead of sixth? I’m looking further ahead, I’d like to force the club into spring, for next season. Or if you make a choice now, you have to make it thinking about next year too. I would make very few changes but good ones. There are already too many of us. But next year I will be extremely picky. I will ask for a different budget than this year’s. Then it won’t be said that whoever spends the most wins, but I want to play it. I want Ancona to be competitive next year, perhaps together with two, or three, or four other teams.”
