THE SITUATION

ITALIAN WORDS
The Bologna coach bitterly commented on his team’s defeat: “The approach to the match wasn’t negative. However, after the 1-1 draw we should have ridden the furor we found and shouldn’t have conceded that second goal. I agree in talking about a totally negative performance because even today we didn’t defeat our opponent but we still remained in the race. It’s a shame because we couldn’t win.” To those who asked him about Bologna being too slow, he responded by saying that “we managed to get to Orsolini and Ndoye on many game changes. They showed great quality up front, and it was seen above all on the second goal. For me, however, we played equal with a strong team who are mentally well. We need to come out faster and with more quality from the back, and improve in front of goal. Today, for me, we scored the goals practically on our own, but for five games now the team has remained always in the race. We missed him today too that something extra.” Italiano also focused on Fabbian’s performance:
“Both Dallinga and Fabbian worked well in phases of non-possession and also had some scoring opportunities. Giovanni is good at throwing himself into spaces and in the first half he did it well. As for the substitutions, I had in mind to throw them in Odgaard, Castro, Iling, then the goal changed things.”
