After the defeat against Stuttgart and the draw against Lille, on the fifth day of the Champions League there Juventus doesn’t go beyond a 0-0 draw with Aston Villarising to 8 points in the standings. With three matches remaining in the “Championship Phase”, Thiago Motta’s team still has two home matches against Manchester City and Benfica, interspersed with the away match against Club Brugge.
Exams for Savona
But not only that. Thiago Motta’s team exits the Champions League match with yet another fear linked to the conditions in Savona. The Juventus defender felt a slight stiffening of his right thigh and his condition needs to be assessed: the player (in TMW images) in fact arrived a few minutes ago at J Medical for the usual tests.
Thiago Motta spoke like this after the match about the physical discomfort suffered by his player: “We have to evaluate it in Savona. He heard a little… but let’s hope it’s nothing and let’s hope he stopped before. But we have to evaluate him before saying what happened and what he really felt.” The hope at Juve is to avoid yet another serious injury in defense after the knockouts of Bremer and Cabal. In the next round of the championship the Bianconeri will be busy on the Lecce pitch.
