Bayer, how Wirtz shines: “On the second goal I did a bit of dribbling, I liked it better”

If the league doesn’t seem to be the same infallible team as last year, the Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League he never stops putting on a show. The last time just yesterday evening, when he swept away the Salzburg by 5-0. Among the protagonists of the match, given the wide result, however, the most precious diamond of Xabi Alsono’s team stood out above all, namely Florian Wirtz.

The German attacking midfielder, born in 2003, never ceases to amaze and in the European match against the Austrian Champions he scored a personal brace and even earlier made a tailor-made assist for Grimaldo’s opening goal. Sparkling performance that elected him as MVP of the evening and in the post-match interview with the microphones of DAZN he commented on the result and his own performance after reaching the fifth place in the single Champions League ranking behind Atalanta.

“Today (yesterday, ed.) I had a lot of fun. We gave everything from the first minute, we showed our qualities on the pitch, dominating a lot. First of all we wanted to win the match, it’s clear. If then – continued Wirtz – I can to score a dribble or a good goal, it’s obvious that I’m happy to be able to get people excited a bit. I did a bit of dribbling first… that’s what I liked the most personally.” he ruled. Finally admitting that he had enjoyed one unusual freedom in the middle of the pitch: “I had a lot of space, definitely more than usual, which is why I was able to exploit my qualities and look for spaces.”
