Final result: Slovan Bratislava – Milan 2-3
Maignan 6 – In the first half, opponents come at him face to face twice: Pavlovic saves him from Strelec, but is instead mocked by Barseghyan’s soft touch. With Marcelli’s 2-3, there is absolutely nothing to be done.
Calabria 5.5 – He finds a place in the starting eleven again more than two months after the last time. Scraping away all this rust wasn’t easy, but in the first half he made a few too many mistakes.
From 75′ Emerson Royal sv.
Tomori 6 – At first glance you might say that he is returning to his levels. Of course, some scattered uncertainty always remains but what we saw in Bratislava appeared to be a Tomori in the growth phase.
Pavlovic 6.5 – He has the art of fixing mistakes, the problem is that they are often his own making. His performance, at times clumsy, was however ennobled by the save on the line in the first half.
Theo Hernandez 6 – Less lethal weapon of the left-handed lane than usual, he still has a good frequency of descents. What he lacks most is the quality of execution. Overall a great deal.
Fofana 6.5 – He starts off aggressive, wanting to win back every ball possible but not very effective for large stretches of the match. In the second half, however, he grows and it is he who designs the corridor for Leao to overtake.
From 75′ Musah sv.
Reijnders 5.5 – Speed is not his strong point, but Barseghyan takes his paint off. On the green rectangle of the Tehelne Pole he doesn’t offer the best version of himself, not even when he has the ball at his feet.
Chukwueze 5.5 – In the end, the match will still be won, but Milan needs his flashes and needs to be more consistent. The evening in Bratislava seems promising but ends up unraveling itself.
Pulisic 7 – Milan’s Captain America is the beating heart of the Rossoneri project and in Bratislava he gives further proof of his importance by unlocking the games. Even in times of crisis, it remains present.
From 75′ Loftus-Cheek sv.
Okafor 5 – He puts Leao back on the bench, it’s his chance to restore uncertainty to the hierarchies. A missed chance, however: involved only at times, in situations where he could have an impact he never manages to do so.
From 46′ Leao 7 – This time, after five consecutive appearances among the starters, he starts from the bench. He gets off to a poor start but his name appears on the scoresheet for the overtaking goal. And this weighs.
Abraham 7.5 – With Morata disqualified he has a free field: he has the merit of letting Pulisic run into the right gap for the 0-1, the pass that sends Leao towards goal is also appreciable. He finishes in style with the goal to make it 1-3.
From 84′ Camarda sv.
Paulo Fonseca 6 – The way in which Milan attacks the game and Slovan is very convincing and the Rossoneri give the idea of being able to stay in the opponent’s area on a permanent basis. Then the lead comes but – after having already risked a few minutes earlier – a defensive chasm opens up which leads to an immediate 1-1. He wastes no time and immediately inserts Leao: after a disappointing first part of the second half, the move smiles on him and shortly afterwards the hat trick arrives. Despite Marcelli’s goal, the ending was calm and brought another three points in the bag. Good things, however, have been seen up to a certain point.
