Kucka talks about his Italian career: “I was from Bursaspor, then Galliani called me…”

In view of this evening’s challenge which the Milan will play at Slovan Bratislava, a sport.sk the captain of the Slovaks spoke Juraj Kucka: “Milan was a dream for me, I even said it as a kid when I played at Podbrezova.”

In Kucka’s past, however, there is also a formal move to Inter which in 2011 bought half of his membership from Genoa when the joint ownership was still active: “As soon as Inter bought me, I forgot how to play football. I know what the problem was but I couldn’t do anything about it. I played badly in the first few games and then the coach kicked me out, but it was my fault. Genoa then bought back 50% of my card at a lower price, so he made a profit anyway.”

Then his 4 and a half years at Genoa: “For two years I practically couldn’t leave the house because of the fans. They even entered the locker room at the sports centre, to move around we had to do it safely. Once during a match they asked us to take off our shirts because we didn’t deserve them. Then the situation was reversed.”

The move to Milan
“I was almost going to Bursaspor when an unknown number called me. It was Adriano Galliani. I didn’t know what to say, in the evening I went to Milan and the next day everything was done. They were strange years then, even the club knew that the team was that moment wasn’t as strong as it was in the past.”

In that period, Balotelli was also at Milan
“Mario is Mario. An incredible player, but to be taken as he is. He’s a simple boy who doesn’t have problems with anything. Once, however, an inch of snow fell and he said he wouldn’t come to training because he couldn’t get out of the garage. It was extreme.”

Farewell to Milan
“The club was bought by the Chinese who took players for 100-200 million, even in my position. An offer came from Turkey and I decided to try. Not my best moment, but I don’t regret it.”
