Abodi on the new San Siro: “Something is moving, the situation is evolving”

On the sidelines of the “Italia Direzione Nord” event which took place yesterday at the Triennale di Milano, the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi he returned to the topic linked to the “Meazza” stadium in San Siro: “I believe that the San Siro stadium has characteristics that deserve respect, but Milan also deserves respect from the point of view of new exploratory infrastructures.

It can be said that something is moving after years of waiting and the situation is evolving in a concrete way. I believe that there is everyone’s desire to make a contribution, not only in Milan, because we need accessible, functional, intelligent stadiums from a technological point of view. There are still problems to solve, we need to choose which option is necessary.”

The minister then also focused on the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics: “Although the weather is not our friend, we are collaborating in such a spirit that we will respect our commitments and present ourselves to the world in the right way. There are just 440 days to finish achieve everything, but we want to prepare for a memorable edition of the Games and this passes through the creation of the infrastructure. The Olympics will have an environmental legacy worthy of the aspirations of all of us.”
