Pecchia’s report cards: team at Atalanta’s mercy, more balance is needed

The championship for Parma resumes with a home defeat, 1-3 against Atalanta. Certainly not an easy opponent and in great form, but who has exposed the defensive fragilities shown so far by the team Fabio Pecchia. A single jolt with Cancellieri’s goal, which however did not allow the Crusaders to avoid defeat. The relegation zone is close, a change of gear is needed.

The Parma coach was unanimously judged in the newspapers with a rating of 5.5. TMW writes thus: “The first half in which Parma never threatens itself except in the final minutes. In the second half their team enters with more courage and puts Atalanta in difficulty, only to then fade away after the 3-1 goal from Lookman”.

Below is the assessment from La Gazzetta dello Sport: “It’s fine to be proactive and try to impose your game, but 4 pure attackers against the Goddess seem exaggerated. Defense always in difficulty on crosses”. To reach salvation, more balance is needed, without excessively distorting the identity built up to this moment and based on offensive resourcefulness.
