Serie B opened last night with a crackling draw between Cosenza and Modena. Even if the final result was 1-1, thanks to the goals of Cotali – the first of the season – for the Emilians and Mazzocchi – a half-overhead kick that brought applause – for the Calabrians, before and after there were many untapped scoring opportunities that could have led to a different outcome.
The great protagonist, in addition to the two goalscorers, was certainly Gregoire Defrel: the Frenchman actually lived a nightmare evening despite having started well with the assist for the yellow-blue lead. Then two missed goals from a few steps away – first kicking high and then shooting at Micai – and finally the expulsion for an intervention in the middle of the pitch on Kouan which caused a lot of doubts and controversy in the Canary Islands.
