It is with the official note that we report in full below, that the Follonica Gavorrano, after the farewell with the now former General Director Renato Vagaggini, says she is “pleased to announce the arrival of the new General Director Paolo Giovannini. The agreement was signed on a multi-year basis for two and a half years, with expiry June 2027 and with possible automatic renewal of another two seasons in case of promotion to Serie C.

Born in 1964 and originally from Bagni di Lucca, Giovannini had consensually ended his relationship with Arezzo in May, at the end of last season. He had led the amaranths to victory in the 2022/23 championship in group E of Serie D, with the following year played in Serie C where they conquered the playoff zone, obtaining eighth position.

Giovannini therefore arrives in red and white with a CV filled with many victories, with seven championships won in five different clubs, with four first places in Serie D out of four participations and three in Serie C2.
His career began in the 1998/99 season for five years at Castelnuovo Garfagnana, with his first promotion and two access to the play offs in Serie C. He then moved to Massese with a double promotion from D to C1. Double promotion also at the helm of Lucchese between 2008 and 2010, again from Serie D to C1.
Then came the experience in Pistoia from the 2011/12 season, then arriving at Pontedera in the 2012/13 season, also in that case with the victory of the C2 championship, until May 2022 obtaining four access to the play offs. The last experience, as mentioned, was in Arezzo in the last two seasons.

The red and white management wishes the new general manager Paolo Giovannini the best of luck in his work, who is already ready to make his experience available for the colors of Follonica Gavorrano.”
