From a footballer to taking care of footballers, Federico Caronte changed his life but always remained on the pitch. The product of the Toro academy, born in 1997, has long since become an “individual coach”. “FC Training was founded seven years ago now, there are also three other guys on the staff and together we take care of improving the performance of professionals and amateurs at 360 degrees” he tells us in a long chat.
Charon, which Toro did you see against Juventus?
“The Granata could have done more, they are struggling because injuries aren’t helping and Zapata’s stoppage is having a big impact. But the staff is reduced, the squad hasn’t been strengthened and in the long run it will pay off. It’s a Toro from the middle ranking, almost low, and it is better to look behind us: in January we need to intervene in a significant way.”
Coming to your business, what do you do?
“My experience as a footballer, also at Toro, allows me to see the player from multiple perspectives. I help him in the technical, but also psychological and physical aspects, trying to create an ad hoc program for the individual. We dedicate ourselves not only to professionals, but also to amateurs: it’s nice that 14 kids who came through me ended up between Toro and Juve.”
Lucca and Ciammaglichella also passed through FC Training.
“Lorenzo came to me in his first year in Serie A, he has incredible potential and could easily be deputy to Vlahovic at Juve. Aaron is a golden boy, I count few like him: he has to grow, I always take him as example. And at Toro it looks good in perspective. Now Djidji and Edera are working hard, they deserve an opportunity.”
What are the next projects?
“We will do a course for coaches, to allow them to have some basics. Also because now there are many technicians from YouTube, but it doesn’t work like that…”.
