Roma women, Viens: “I’m better now, we want to go far in the Champions League”

Evelyne Viensstriker of Roma Womenspoke to the official channels of the Giallorossi club on the eve of the Champions League match against Lyon:

“I feel better, as you can hear my voice isn’t at its best, I caught a small virus, I had a physical problem in short, I had everything, but I think I feel better and I’m really excited. I would have liked to play to help the team in the last matches, but I’m back and I have good feelings on the pitch.”

What are your impressions of Lyon?
“We know they are one of the best teams in the world, but at the same time that’s why we compete. We also want to be the best, we want to challenge these teams, we want to go far in the Champions League. So yes, I think they have a fantastic team, they know what they do, they’re good with the ball, they have great movement. I think they’re an incredible team overall, but now it’s up to us to go there and put them in a little bit more trouble, give them a bigger challenge. And yeah, be there for the whole game and, well, we have to respect them, but at the same time we must give everything and believe in ourselves.”

What can you expect from this match?
“I think it will be a difficult match, I know that perhaps there won’t be the best climate for us, not for me, but for my teammates, it will be a bit cold. I think it’s a big stadium, we just have to try to quickly understand how the pitch behaves, how fast it is, because from what I heard it is an excellent pitch, where the ball turns quickly, like last year against PSG. So I think we have to be quick, understand it immediately, find it quickly our connection, the chemistry, and going to battle.”
