Mutu: “Gudmundsson has the talent to lead Fiorentina’s 10. Kean is strong”

Adrian Mutuformer striker of Juventus, Parma, Inter, Chelsea, Cesena, Verona and Fiorentina, spoke to the microphones of Radio FirenzeViola on the occasion of the Viola Hall of Fame, in which he was included by the Fiorentina Museum: “A very important award that makes me proud, especially because it comes from Florence. Being appreciated by this city makes me really proud. I’m very happy to be here” .

Can you tell us about the moments of your experience in viola?
“I have many episodes, but the match against PSV in Holland gave me great satisfaction. The hat-trick against Genoa, which took us to the Champions League, was also very important. These two episodes are the ones I remember most fondly.”

Did you expect Fiorentina to be so high?
“He had an uncertain start to the season, but now he has achieved many victories and he deserves to be here. Even if the championship is long, he is demonstrating that he has the qualities to remain at the top.”

The number 10 shirt belongs to Gudmundsson today: is it on the right shoulders?
“Let’s hope. I saw the boy against Milan: he scored and made great plays. He has the talent to carry the 10 on his shoulders, a number that is worth a lot in Florence.”

Do he and Kean in attack convince you?
“Kean is strong, like many others in this team. As I always say, Florence deserves to be in these positions. I heard that the president wants to strengthen the team: let’s hope he gives us a nice surprise.”
