The 2023-2024 CSR Report of the Social Responsibility Area of the Amateur League was presented at the Social Football Summit, born two years ago and led by Luca De Simoni. The volume collects a year of social campaigns, projects, activities and goals that highlight the social value of the League itself.
The report was also the subject of discussion in the panel, moderated by Roberta Noè, Skysport journalist, in which the President Giancarlo Abete, Paola Severini Melograni, director of the social culture portal, Angelipress and Massimiliano Monnanni, General Secretary of CNEL, spoke.
“We wanted to talk about the responsibility that comes from being the largest amateur sports family in Europe, which together with the Youth and School Sector, has over 1 million members of the grassroots clubs – declared Giancarlo Abete, president of the Amateur League – numbers that make the LND one of the main educational agencies in the country. This document aims to spread the values of our project, involving the various networks linked to the LND and effectively communicating the results achieved.
Our ambition is to ensure that our League is a reference model for the entire Italian football movement, an organization capable of combining passion for sport with social responsibility.”
The period analyzed by the report, printed on recycled paper, covers the period from January 2023 to September 2024 with initiatives dedicated to multiple themes such as prevention and health, inclusion, fight against racism and bullying, campaign against homophobia, day of memory and day of health and social care personnel.
Among the stages of the journey linked to social responsibility, which saw young footballers as protagonists, the Piras tournament in Sardinia which, thanks to the 50 goals scored by the 8 regional Under 17 teams, led to the planting of 250 trees.
