Brawl during Catania-Trapani in the Curva Sud, two Catania fans arrested

The Catania Police Headquarters is carrying out investigations to clarify the details of the brawl that broke out in the Curva Sud during the derby between Catania and Trapaniplayed last Friday. As reported by CataniaToday.it, Digos agents carefully analyzed the images of the episode, managing to identify two Catania fans, aged 28 and 37 respectively, accused of particularly violent behaviour. The two were arrested on charges of aggravated brawl and damage related to sporting events.

For the younger of the two, the court ordered house arrest, while the 37-year-old will have to comply with the obligation to sign with the judicial police. Both fans were already known to the police for similar episodes that occurred in the past, a circumstance that aggravated their position.

In addition to the restrictive measures already issued, DASPO will be applied to both, which will prevent them from accessing the stadiums for a certain period of time. The authorities continue to work to identify further perpetrators involved in the incident, reiterating their commitment to ensuring safety during sporting events and preventing episodes of violence in the stands.
