During the thirteenth edition of The Grand Football Gala of Italian Football the technician Eziolino Capuano spoke to the microphones of TMW of his farewell to Foggia and beyond: “I don’t think that a coach after four positive results loses a match at the end and resigns, I have already explained that the decision does not depend on the defeat, but on an ethical fact, of high dignity that no one he would have done something else. I wanted Foggia, I would make this choice two thousand times, an extraordinary square.”
Then there is room for the words of the Rossoneri defender Parodi who yesterday criticized his idea of football: “We have experienced a tragedy, but with my regret I see and read the words of a player as good as Parodi who talks about having fun on the pitch, of short and tall build, and I am amazed and understand why football is changing significantly. I had given him some advice, to lose a few kilos because he looks like a padel player who then wants to give lessons to those who are in football. 35 years old. I don’t consider it ethical and polite, what does it mean to go to the pitch and have fun? Is football suffering, emotion, or is it achieved through play or not play, I wasn’t aware that he had played for City or in Barcelona. In many years I have coached with great dignity and have never allowed myself to make judgements. Unfortunately this is football, the players have changed and ineducation reigns supreme.”
Space for the future: “I’m not looking for a team, I’ve never proposed myself. I hope to do the best job in the world, to still give satisfaction and suffer for the people who call me”.
Finally, a thought on the term braccetto that he invented: “I was one of the first to do this three-man defense in Italy, I spoke about it at the Coverciano master’s degree 15-16 years ago in a report for my thesis on 3-5-2 with the late Franco Ferrari. Instead of talking about left-wing and right-wing power plants, I talked about arm in arm. A few years later in Arezzo I started using this term and the problem arose which has now spread to Spain and England.”
