Pres. Pontedera: “The situation is worrying, but we will do everything to get out of it”

After the eighth defeat of the season suffered against Pianese, the president of Pontedera, Simone Millozzireleased a long and thoughtful statement, analyzing the team’s difficult moment, currently on the edge of the playout zone.

Millozzi began by underlining the importance of facing the situation with clarity: “I took some time to reflect, because in moments of great disappointment it is easy to indulge in impulsive declarations. Instead, it is necessary to think calmly so as not to further aggravate morale of the team, the fans or the environment”.

The president did not hide his concern for the position in the ranking, assuming his responsibilities: “We cannot hide behind excuses or circumstantial words. We find ourselves in this condition because there have been errors and shortcomings in our path, and we must face them with honesty and humility”:

Reflecting on the team’s difficulties, Millozzi highlighted the lack of continuity: “Too often we have paid for individual and collective errors. We must intervene not only on a technical and tactical level, but above all on mentality and determination. Every single point is crucial in this phase of the season”. Looking ahead, the president confirmed his intention to act on the market: “We will evaluate players with experience and mentality to face a difficult championship like ours. However, the market is not enough: everyone, from the players to the technical staff, must be aware that every match will have an enormous weight.”

Millozzi concluded with a message to the supporters: “I know that trust has been put to the test, but we need you now more than ever. We cannot guarantee miracles, but we promise that every person in this club will give their all to bring Pontedera out of this situation”.
